Abstract

Lõputöö keskendub Woolish Knitting OÜ laoprotsesside automatiseerimisele. Ettevõtte suureks kitsaskohaks on olnud toimiva laosüsteemi ning infotehnoloogia- ja süsteemi puudumine. See ei ole võimaldanud laooperatsioone piisavalt tõhusalt läbi viia ning on tekitanud varude juhtimises puudujääke. Uurimust viis autor läbi kvalitatiivsete uurimismeetodite abil, sh vaatluse ja intervjuuga. Selgus, et toimiva laosüsteemi olemasolu puudumine Tallinna laos raskendab varude haldamist ja kontrollimist. Kauba lattu tulemisel ning laost väljumisel ei olnud paigas kindel varudega toimimisviis. Ühtlasi selgus, et Tallinna laos ei peetud arvestust olemasolevate varude üle, s.t tooteid ega nende koguseid ei fikseeritud nende lattu tulemisel või laost väljumisel. Tooteid puudutav tehniline informatsioon oli vähesel määral dokumenteeritud mitmes erinevas dokumendis, mis tegi vajamineva teabe otsimise ajamahukaks. Diplomipraktika läbiviimise ajal võttis ettevõte autori soovitusel ning kaasabil kasutusele majandustarkvara, millega soovitakse varusid paremini juhtida. Samuti on autor soovitanud kasutusele võtta automaatne andmetuvastussüsteem, täpsemalt vöötkooditehnoloogia. Lisaks soovitab autor majandustarkvara integreerida kasutuseloleva raamatupidamisprogrammi ning e-poega. Autori seisukohalt aitab laotegevust lisaks efektiivsemaks muuta tooteinfo haldust võimaldava tarkvara kasutuselevõtt. Lisaks soovitab autor kauba lattu tulekul viia läbi kauba koguste kontroll ning erinevuste korral tarnijaga ühendust võtta. Samuti viia läbi kvaliteedikontroll selgitamaks välja võimalikud defektid piisavalt vara. Lisaks eelnevale on soovitatav tooted märgistada hooldus-, suurus- ja hinnaetikettidega juba kauba saabumisel, lisades kogu vajamineva info kliendile nähtavasse kohta. Ühtlasi on oluline paigutada tooted korrapäraselt, et vajadusel oleks neid võimalikult vähese ajakuluga võimalik leida. Tehtud ettepanekud muudavad ettevõtte laoprotsesside haldamise tõhusamaks ning parendavad ettevõtte majandustegevust.

Abstract [en]

The aim of this thesis was to optimize and automate processes of warehousing of Woolish Knitting OÜ, an Estonian knitwear and home textile brand founded in 1928. The company does not have a proper warehouse system nor any information systems or technologies. The wantage of the most important attributes affects the company’s well-being. The author chose qualitative methods for the study, such as observation and an interview. The observation showed a shortfall of a functional warehouse system. For instance, there weren’t any records of the inventory. Due to the lack of product articles, this activity was not considered to be decisive. All the information about their products were documented in Excel which in addition included the information of only the newest products and consisted of technical details, for instance, the yarn of which the product was made of, the wholesale price etc. Furthermore, the information was distributed into different documents which made searching for the necessary information time-consuming. The company started implementing a business software for a better inventory management during the author’s diploma internship. The software gives an overview of the inventory and its movement. The implementation would reduce the time which is being spent on stocktaking and the control of the stock quantities. This in turn allows the company to concentrate more on other work related tasks. The author is of the position that to make inventory control and management more efficient, the implementation of barcode technology is required. In addition, the use of an automatic identification technology would make stocktaking much faster. Furthermore, it would greatly benefit the company if they would integrate the software with their current accounting programm and online shop. At the moment, all programs do not cooperate and work individually, which in turn doubles the workload. Integration would simplify the work of employees and gives more time to do other tasks. Additionally the integration reduces the chances of errors and makes inventory management faster and more efficient. In addition it is suggested to implement a software that enables the management of the product information. The aim of the thesis was fulfilled. The author analysed the company’s process of inventory management and made suggestions for improvement. The suggestions include in itself following the quality guidelines and making an investment in infosystems and infotechnology.
