Abstract

Islandi populaarsus turismisihtkohana on viimastel aastatel üha kasvanud, aina rohkemate turistide majutamiseks vajatakse täiendavaid ööbimiskohti.

Abstract [en]

The following thesis Camping complex in Hrifunes in South-Iceland is about an innovative and stylish accommodation in superb setting. More than half of the contemporary world population lives in urban areas and even people living in the countryside lead a life that was traditionally charactarised as an urban one. The tempo of urbanisation does not give any signs of calming down. Contrary to the spread of urban lifestyle a growing number of people want to spend their vacation in wild nature, to test themselves there and to „discover“ new places. During recent years the popularity of Iceland as a tourist destination has rapidly grown. There is a necessity for new accommodation places. Many of the tourists wanting to discover Iceland do not want to spend their nights at featureless cabins with questionable style. Many of these cabins are built as cheaply as possible and due to poor ventilation suffer from excessive humidity. During my own trip there I had several similar experiences. Hrifunes camping complex is elaborately planned and a comfortable place of stay. There are 14 houses of which 8 are semi-detached and 6 are single cabin houses. There is also a parking area, a monument of arches made of steel, a registry house and a main building, latter includes a diner and a sauna. In the main building there is a possibility to enjoy local cuisine at the diner or to relax in the sauna. Outside one can stroll in the greenery and admire the scenery of open landscape. The camping complex is open all-year-round, there is both electricity, water and naturally also free WIFI. The aim of Hrifunes camping complex is to establish a convenient and aesthetical place in wilderness to spend spare time, to rest and foremost to sleep. Taking into acoount the special beauty and charm of the nature of Iceland – „the land of fire and ice“ – then there is little doubt that the number of tourists visiting Iceland continues to rise in the future. And many of them would find a nice place to stay at Hrifunes.
