Abstract

Lisaks on pargil kindel funktsioon – linnaviljelus. See on avalik ruum, mis on mõeldud kõigile kasutamiseks ja kutsub linnarahva üheskoos aiandusega tegelema. Selline aktiivne tegevus kutsub inimesi kokku, et õppida ise endale toitu kasvatama. Omakorda julgustab see inimesi tervislikke eluviise harrastama.

Abstract [en]

All spas and sanatoriums in Estonia are located in peripheral areas, to this day there are no such recreation and medical facilities planned in Central Estonia. The task of the graduation thesis is to design a medical spa in the heart of Central Estonia in Paide, on an empty plot of land next to Järvamaa Hospital on Pärnu st 53/Tiigi st 8. One objective is to offer a visualized plan for the surrounding areas, which reduces the significance of parking lots and squares, increases the green area, and makes the urban environment more pedestrian-friendly. Due to the L-shaped structure of the building, a private park arises in the center of the site, where one can relax and walk around among the greenery. In addition, the park has a definite function - urban cultivation. It is a public space that is meant to be used by all citizens, bringing people together as a group to cultivate and tend to the fields. Such an engaged activity invites people to learn to grow their own food and also encourages us to eat more healthy. In the medical spa, guests can enjoy the various amenities of the water and sauna center: swim in different pools, enjoy the jacuzzis, quench themselves with foot baths and relax in the saunas. As far as the water park is concerned, the southern section is more open and sunny, in contrast to the northern side, which is more private with dimmer spaces, that are separated into smaller sections by walls, in order to provide people with a different sense of the room. Also you can heal yourself and prevent diseases with modern treatments and different massages in the state of the art spa and treatment department. Long-term guests can stay in an all comfort hotel, with half of the rooms overlooking the spectacular inner courtyard at the heart of the building complex. The contrast of privacy and openness is continued in the hotel and the department of medicine. The first floor has a restaurant, a bar, a lounge and a reception area with an open plan, and the remaining rooms are closed and private. On the second and third floors there are open areas close to the lifts where visitors can unwind. There is also spaces for relaxation between hotel rooms and the rooms for private treatment procedures. The building and all its immediate surroundings are designed in such a way that a person would feel calm and relaxed in this setting and get away from everyday stress and problems.
