Abstract

Lisaväärtuse projektile annab hoone fassaad, mis on kujundatud just antud hoonele. Lisaks saab kasutada erinevateks vaba aja veetmise tegevusteks aatriumit.

Abstract [en]

The diploma thesis proposes and represents a draft level design for Kuressaare Recreation Centre. The proposed building is located in Kuressaare seaside, which is surronded by Kuressaare episcopal castle on north and the Kuressaare stadium on south. The proposed solution takes into account the specifities of the location. In addition, the project has taken into account the buildings which are currently missing from the Kuressaare city. The project has proposed one large building complex, which consists of three volumes of the buildings and are joined together by a spacious atrium. Swimming pool, large sportscourt and restaurant are interrelated and all the residents of the city can visit the centre on a daily basis. This solution gives the building diversity and variety of uses. To create new possibilities for sports and free time activities was an important objective of the diploma. The project has solved the recreation complex, which includes a full-size swimming pool as well as a large sportshall, both of those do not exist in Kuressaare today. Adding value to the project is the facade, which is designed specifically for this building. A novelty of this complex are the multifunctional workshops that can be used by hobby groups or for holding birthday parties. In addicion people can use the atrium for a variety of recreational activities.
