Abstract

Käesoleva diplomitöö üheks peateemaks oli taaskasutada tekstiiljääke. Tekstiiljääke saab kasutada mitmeti, kuid antud töö raames kasutati seda iluvaldkonnas, täpsemalt geelküünte disainis. Siiamaani oli aktuaalne olnud kasutada kanga mustreid joonistustena, mitte otsese kasutamisega. Üksikuid juhtumeid, kus kangast ja lõngu oli reaalselt kasutatud. Antud töös keskenduti spetsiaalselt geelküüntele, kuigi kunstküüne variante on ka teisi (akrüülküüned, kangasküüned). Geelküüned just seetõttu, et see on populaarseim variant, mida tänapäeval tehakse ja mida kantakse. Et kangas geelküüntel kena jääks, sai antud töös välja arendatud spetsiaalne tehnika, millega geelküüsi katta kangaga disainieesmärgil. Selle jaoks läks vaja sobivat kangast, kontaktküüneliimi, väikeseid käsitöökääre ja geelküünetarvikuid. Esmalt tuli teha valmis võimalikult õhuke geelküüs, katta küüs liimiga, suruda soovitav kangas küünele, hoida kuni liim on kuivanud, katta ehitusgeeliga, lihvida kujusse, katta pealisgeeliga ning soovi korral võib lisada maalinguid, mis muudab geelküüne disaini ruumiliseks. Enne kui disainkomplekti kokku panna, tuli katsetada, millised kangad sobivad. Katsetatud sai 28 erinevat kangast. Katsetest järeldati, et kangad peavad olema tasapinnalised, õhukesed, õhulisemad (võivad ka veidi jäigemad), peene tekstuuri ja mustriga kangad. Soovitatavalt ka kirkamad toonid, et annaks rohkem efekti. Geel on enne UV-lambi all kõvastumist vedelas olekus seetõttu otsustati teha hügroskoopsustabeli, mis võiks näidata võimalikku seost kanga sulandumisega geeli sisse. Hügroskoopsustabel näitas, et kanga hügroskoopsusel ei olnud seost väljanägemisega ühegi kanga puhul. Seose võis tuua aga tasapinnalisusega- mida mahulisem kangas, seda hajunum välimus ning mida tasapinnalisem, seda konkreetsem. Et saada kangajääke, kirjutati kümnele firmale, millest vastasid pooled, kellest 3 olid kindlasti nõus tasuta kangajääke andma (Abakhan, Tiina Talumees, Baltika), juhul kui minnakse kohale ise neid sorteerima. See tähendas seda, et kangajäägid ja võimalus neid tasuta saada olid olemas. Kanga lõikamise võimalusi on mitmeid, kuid uurimusest tuli välja, et antud töö jaoks sobis esialgu ainult käsitsi lõikamine, sest nii väikeste tükkide lõikamiseks on suured masinad liiga võimsad ja nii peene töö jaoks spetsiaalset masinat ei leitud, jäi manuaalne käsitöökääridega lõikamise variant. Valmiskomplekti hind kujunes liimist, kääridest, kleebitavatest tekstiiltükkidest, paigaldusjuhendist, karbist, kleepsust, tootmiseks vajaminevast (elekter, valgus, ruumirent), ajakulust, kasumist (60%). Lõpphinnaks tarbijale tuleks 13€. Sihtturg kellele turundada oleks 20-45. aastased geelküüsi kandvad ja nendega tegelevad naisterahvad kellele meeldib universaalsus ja detailsus küünetehnikas. Turundada võiks esialgu tasuta kanalites nagu sotsiaalmeedias ning suust-suhu reklaamiga.

Abstract [en]

The title of current thesis is „Using textile waste in gel nail desing“. This thesis is topical because in many companies that product textile products leave behind plenty of waste that could be used. The goal of this thesis is to provide textile design starter kit to target market that is only meat to gel nails. The theoretical tasks were to find opportunities how textile waste coukd be used, find ways how to cut fabric. Practical tasks were to find out how new this idea was, do tests with diferent fabrics, analyse the results, find and contact companies where potentially these kinds of fabrics are and who products good out of them. There are many ways of using textile waste, but in this thesis it was used in the field of beauty. So far, there was used only the patterns of textile, for example lace and knittings. Only few examples were found where textile was tried to use in nail design mainly. The focus in this thesis was especially on gel nail desing, but there are more examples of arificial nails like acrylics and fabric nails. The most popular artificial nail type is gel nail and this is why this thesis focused on them especially. In this thesis a special technique was developed, that textile would look nice as a design on a gel nail. To do that, you would have to need some textile, contact glue, craft scissors and gel nail supplies. At first you would have to make a gel nail, as thin as possible, cover it with glue, press the textile on it and wait for it to dry, cover it with builder gel, file it to shape, cover it with top gel and that is that. If you wish you could draw some art on top, to make it more striking. To know, what textile suits for this kind of design, there had to be done some tests. For this thesis there were tested 28 different fabrics. As conclusion of the tests the suitable textiles are flat, thin and lighter fabrics, with fine texture and patterns, rich colors. Because of the fact that gel is liquid, there had to be done some hygroskopic tests, to see what fabrics absorb more water and if that affects the appearance of the fabric on nails. Test results showed that there is no connection with appearance and absorpion of the water. To get some textile pieces for free or with low price, there had to be done some research of the potential companies that do production of textile products. Three of ten of contacted companies were willing to give free textile waste (Abakhan, Tiina Talumees, Baltika). To make the final product of textile design starter kit, there had to be done some research of how to cut accurate pieces out of fabric and with what. There are a lot of machines for that but non of them really worked because the nail-shaped pieces are really small and fragile to cut it with big machines. So the results of the search told that at first it has to be done by händ and with little craft scissors. Starter pack kit consists of contact glue, craft scissors, nail-shaped textile pieces, installation guide, paper box with transparent window, information sticker. The price includes also production cost, time expenditure and 60% profit. Final price is 13€. Target market would be 20-45 year old women and nail technicians who wear and do gel nails and who likes the innovativeness and uniqueness in nail art. Marketing channels would be in social media and mouth-to-mouth advertisement.
