Abstract

Lõputöös on käsitletud ühe mootorratta restaureerimise protsessi autori omandis oleva sõiduki Jawa 360 näitel. Tulemusena valmis töö, mis annab parema ettekujutuse uuele vanatehnika huvilisele, kes mõtleb restaureerimisele. Töö on jaotatud etappideks, mis tuleks sooritada sellise töö ette võtmisel. Sealhulgas on rõhutatud tegevusi ja protsesse millele pöörata suuremat tähelepanu, toodud välja varuosade hankimismeetodeid, töövõtteid ning seletatud lahti vanasõidukiks tunnustamise reegleid. Antud lõputöö valmimise käigus avastas autor enda jaoks uue mõttelaadi. Nimelt eelnevalt on tehnika käsitlemisel olnud selline põhimõte, kus defektne detail on otstarbekam välja vahetada uue vastu. Vanatehnika taastamise puhul on asjad veidi teisiti. Nimelt tihti ei ole mõistlik eemaldatud defektne detail maha kanda, vaid tegeleda selle taastamisega. Sageli ei ole uut varuosa kuskilt saada, on uus detail liiga madala kvaliteediga või ei ole see piisavalt sarnane originaalile. Mõnel juhul on ajakulu tõttu ja majanduslikust aspektist lähtudes otstarbekam kasutada teenusepakkujaid, kelle juures teostatud tööd jäävad kvaliteetsemad. Seega näiteks keredetailide taastamise puhul on kohati mõistlikum pöörduda plekksepa poole või kroomitud detaili puhul kasutada kroomimise teenust. Enne sellise mahuga projekti alustamist on keeruline ette öelda konkreetset taastamise peale kuluvat summat, eriti kui eelnevalt puudus antud valdkonnaga kogemus. Sellegipoolest oli eeldatavaks kulujärguks umbes 2000 eurot, kuid tegelikult kulus kogu restaureerimisprotsessi peale hoopis ligikaudu 500 eurot. Hinnajärgu erinevus on tingitud puudulikust kogemusest restaureerimise valdkonnas ja odavamate teenusepakkujate leidmisest ning taastatavate detailide hulgast. Üldjoones kulges taastamise protsess vaatamata ajapuudusele positiivselt ja lisaks tulemustele sõiduki juures on märkimisväärsed ka uurimisprotsessi ning töö käigus saadud uued teadmised ja kogemused, mis on kindlasti kasuks edaspidiselt.

Abstract [en]

The aim of the thesis called „Restoration of Jawa 360 in accordance with the rules of acknowledging a unique vehicle“ is to achieve so called „black license plate“ which shows an unique vehicle status. Also this thesis is a guide to someone who wishes to take up restoration of an old motorcycle but needs some guidance on how to start and what to consider. This thesis contains information about following topics: how to assess a motorcycle; work phases that needs to be done in order to achieve acknowledgment; where and how to obtain necessary spare parts; how to restore different types of metal finishes; list and description of executed processes; the rules of acknowledging a unique vehicle; results and cost of the restauration. In order to achieve the acknowledgment of an unique vehicle the author of this thesis explains the processes that had to be done while pointing out things to follow to successfully restore a motorcycle while presenting examples from his own experience and vehicle. Because the author lacks major experience in the given field, he emphasizes the fact how different the mindset is in terms on discarding worn parts. Usually in automotive repairs when a part is worn it gets thrown away and replaced. But in this case the worn part may be the only part left. That is because the availability of new parts is often poor or it does not match the quality or appearance of the original part. So often one must seek ways to repair the worn part. This also changed the expected cost of the project because the author previously thought that basically all the parts need to be replaced and did not think about repairing them. This means that the cost of the project was about 1500 euros cheaper than initially calculated. In conclusion it can be said that the aforementioned Jawa 360 did not achieve the acknowledgment of an unique vehicle mainly because of lack of time caused by queue in the galvanic service and delayed arrival of ordered spare parts. Despite that this thesis gives a overview of the process of restoring a motorcycle and can be helpful for those who wish to take up this kind of restoring but are having difficulties finding a way to get started.
