Abstract

Mudelite arendust alustati põhiõigete konstrueerimise, jakile on kasutatud Mülleri „Meeste jope põhilõiget“ mille peale on modelleeritud moekohane lõige, varrukaks on kasutatud „Meeste särkpluusi varrukat“, kuna on sobiv avaruselt. Mudel „Arno“ on poolliibuva lõikeline, pealeõmmeldud taskutega millel on figuursed klapid. Ohutuse mõttes on lisatud helkurkandid õmbluste vahele.

Abstract [en]

The result of this diploma thesis is a set of indoor workwear, which has been completed in a collaboration with a company. The set includes pants and a jacket as well as overalls. The purpose of the work was to design products, which would meet both the customer as well as consumers needs. The necessities of the consumers were formulated in a survey. The feedback provided information about the needs of the customers for whom the clothes are meant for. In the next stage of the constructing process, a range of different designs were created, and the final styles were picked out with the representatives of the company. The products are made out of high quality fabrics and versatile materials, which are especially suitable for creating workwear. Selected fabrics are very resistant to abrasion and wear. The trims, that have been selected for the garments, are long-lasting reflector seams and high-quality YKK zippers. The process of designing started with constructing the block patterns of the clothing. The jacket has been designed using M. Muller & Sohn’s sloper for men’s jacket, which has been modified according to trend. The sleeves are constructed using Mullers’ pattern for mens’ shirt sleeve, because it has a suitable loose cut for workwear. The pants have also been formed following the Muller & Sohn’s system based on the construction of jeans. The bodice of the overalls are designed according to the block pattern, with pants added onto the bodice. An additional 11 cm of fabric has been added to the waistline giving extra space for better movement. In the next stage of construction the first test patterns were created to asses the patterns, which enabled to make different corrections. After that the patterns were digitized and final corrections were made on the computer. French curves, with added gradings, were also created at this stage. Finally the prototypes of the product were sewn using printed patterns. Model „Arno“ is a semi-fitted cut, with sewn-on pockets that have figurative flaps. Reflectoring trimmings have been added in-between seams for safety reasons. The front has a binding and a twoway sliding zipper. 80 Model „Arni“ is a straight-cut style. The knee parts are ergonomically fitted, with darts on the knee parts and pockets for kneepads. Additionally there is a stretchy waistband on the waistline and a stretchy wedge in-between the legs. Model „Arto“ is a semi-fitted cut, with breast pockets sewn onto it. There are also side pockets, with additional pouches for storing wrenches and other tools. An elastic waistband has been added to the back of the garment, so the waistline would be adjustable. Nowadays the market for quality workwear is very extensive. There are many businesses and the competition is harsh. If the the result of the thesis would be actualized, and the products would be improved, then these products could be very adequate in the workwear market. The models which were presented in this thesis need some further development which would lead to excellent, quality products
