Abstract

Käesolevas lõputöös käsitleti osa võistlusauto Porsche 924 ümberehitustest, mis olid vajalikud osalemiseks kiirendusvõistlustel. Kuna sõidukil tehtavate ümberehituste maht on suur, ei ole sõidukit veel tänaseks hetkeks komplekteeritud. Sellest tulenevalt ei ole täpselt teada millisesse võistlusklassi sõiduk kuulub, kuna võistlusklassidesse jaotatakse sõidukid sõidetava ajaindeksi järgi. Käesolevas lõputöös lähtuti kiirendusvõistluste tehniliste tingimuste üldnõuetest, võistlusklassi street modified nõuetest ja lisanõuetest sõidukitele mis sõidavad kiiremini kui 11.499 sekundit. Olulisel kohal olid ka kasutaja nõudmised, millest lähtuvalt ka elektrisüsteemi projekteeriti. Olulisema muutusena vahetati välja mootori juhtimissüsteem. Kasutusele võeti programmeeritav mootori juhtarvuti Megasquirt MS3X kuna mootori tööks vajalike komponentide osas toimus muudatusi ning originaalset juhtarvutit ei saa kasutada. Samuti sooviti mootori juhtarvutilt ka launch control süsteemi, mida originaalne juhtarvuti ei toetanud. Teise olulisema muutusena projekteeriti uuesti ka mootori tööst sõltumatu elektrisüsteem, mille projekteerimisel lähtuti kasutatavatest komponentidest ja paigaldatavatest lisaseadmetest. Mootori tööst sõltumatu elektrisüsteem projekteeriti olema võimalikult lihtne ja kergesti hooldatav. Originaalsest elektrisüsteemist eemaldati kõik ebavajalik ja kõik ebasobivad lahendused asendati sobilikemaga. Elektrisüsteemis kasutatakse võimlikult lihtsaid ja standardseid ostutooteid, lihtsustamaks hilisemaid remont ja hooldustöid. Välja vahetati ka pulk tüüpi sulavkaitsmed olulisemalt töökindlamate kahvel tüüpi sulavkaitsmete vastu. Kuna sõiduki juures tehtavate ümberehituste maht on suur ei ole käesolevaks hetkeks veel sõidukilt komplekteeritud. Esimesel võimalusel sõiduk komplekteeritakse ning rakendatakse ja testitakse sõidukile projekteeritud elektrisüsteemi.

Abstract [en]

The topic of the present graduation thesis is to design and implement the electrical system for a drag racing vehicle Porsche 924. The vehicle has been used earlier very successfully as a circuit race-car in the Porsche 924 cup. Unfortunately, 2002 was the last year in the competition series because of the small number of participants. After the competition series ended, the vehicle was sold and remained out of use because it was not road legal. As the vehicle is equipped with a roll cage, it was decided to use it at competitions again but this time in drag racing. The aim of this thesis is to design the electrical system to the rebuilt Porsche 924 to enable it to compete in a drag racing series. The most important change is the replacement of the engine control system and the electrical system, which works independently of the engine. The programmable engine control system Megasquirt MS3X is applied. The main reason for the exchange of the engine control system is the implementation of the turbo charged M52B28 BMW engine. Components of the engine have to be changed and for that reason it is not possible to use the original engine control. It was decided to design a new electrical system that works independently of the engine as the old one is deprecated and dangerous and numerous additional devises have to be installed. The new electrical system has to be in compliance with the technical requirements allowed in drag racing, the user’s requirements, and be simple, dependable and easily maintained. When designing the electrical system, the general requirements of the drag racing and additional requirements to vehicles, which race faster than 11.499 seconds, were followed. Also the requirements of the user are relevant, the electrical system is mainly designed according to them. The required cross section area of the wires are calculated to ensure the reliability of the electrical system. As the amount of rebuilding work of the vehicle is considerable, the vehicle is not yet fully assembled. For that reason it cannot be defined, which class it belongs to as the vehicles are divided into classes according to the driving time index. The vehicle will be completed and implemented as soon as possible and the designed electrical system will be tested. The first chapter of the thesis deals with the history of drag racing, the development of the event in Estonia, the characterisation of the event and the comparison of the competition classes. The second chapter describes the choice of the engine control system, the used components and the installation of the electrical system in the car. The calculation results required for the design of the electrical system are also described. The technical specification of the designed electrical system and the user’s requirements are presented. The third chapter describes the technical changes needed for the implementation of the electrical system, the new devices and schematically prepared circuit diagrams for implementation the electrical system are shown.
